Crown Of Thorns
All the earth is reeling
From the curse of Adam’s sin
Fields are choked with briars
That have made the harvest thin
Then among them like a lily
Jesus Christ was born
Like no other earthly king
He wore a crown of thorns
Innocent but treated
Like he twisted it himself
On his heart was not one mark
Of sin or death or hell
Like the ram that Abraham
Found caught there by its horns
As a spotless sacrifice
He wore a crown of thorns
Being made a curse for us
It sunk into his brow
Wearing on his head the shame
Of what our sin brought down
Hanging on a tree he knew
That all he’d get was scorn
Dying on that cross for us
He wore a crown of thorns
From the curse of Adam’s sin
Fields are choked with briars
That have made the harvest thin
Then among them like a lily
Jesus Christ was born
Like no other earthly king
He wore a crown of thorns
Innocent but treated
Like he twisted it himself
On his heart was not one mark
Of sin or death or hell
Like the ram that Abraham
Found caught there by its horns
As a spotless sacrifice
He wore a crown of thorns
Being made a curse for us
It sunk into his brow
Wearing on his head the shame
Of what our sin brought down
Hanging on a tree he knew
That all he’d get was scorn
Dying on that cross for us
He wore a crown of thorns
